Applications Support Officer          

Grade: SO1 – PO2

 

About the role

We are seeking people for IT Application Support roles, either with similar prior experience or for less senior roles, an ability to learn and develop on the job. You will be part of Haringey Council’s Digital Services team in North London.      

You will provide technical support to users of key applications across the Council through resolution of incidents and service requests in line with agreed service agreements, minimising disruption / loss of service.

Any previous experience will have enabled you to develop a good understanding of the IT / IS infrastructure, configurations, IT applications and service processes used within an organisation.

You will be investigating and solving application software issues through system modifications, workarounds or enhancements as well as carrying out routine application maintenance in line with our standards, methods and procedures.

You may also carry out work to support systems implementations and releases, including testing changes.

 

About you

You will possess a range of skills and aptitude for learning on the job. Alternatively, you will already have experience of an application support role. Experience of any of our main systems such as SAP, MOSAIC, iWORLD or Office 365 would be an advantage.

You will need to be organised to be able to prioritise requests and issues against agreed criteria and the Council’s needs, as well as creating or amending documentation, procedures and updating system records.

Good communication skills are needed to work with other staff and suppliers, as well as providing updates and communications to users on issues, incidents and service disruptions.
