Site and Services Engineer

About the role 

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Site Services engineer to join the Digital Services team in Haringey Council (North London).

You will be responsible for the management and safe upkeep of all datacentre physical and environmental facilities including mains power supplies, generators, UPS, air conditioning/cooling, monitored alarms and fire control services. You will conduct regular audits of IT cabinets and connectivity ensuring adherence to quality procedures, insurance requirements and health and safety standards.

There will be an opportunity to become the technical and implementation lead for key transformational projects in addition to working on operational requirements.

About you

You will have proven and demonstrable skills with at least five years relevant experience, possibly gained through working in the Telecoms industry. You will be comfortable working closely with project teams and supplier partners.

Your technical skills will encompass key technologies used in voice and data networks including:

• Routing protocols
• VPNs
• MPLS
• Transmission (SDH, EoSDH, MSP, DWDM, Ethernet)
• Interfaces and standards

You will have good knowledge of relevant regulations to ensure compliance to all business, governance and legislative policies including PCI-DSS.

Having certifications in related areas such as IOSH, CCNA and CNCI Certified Installer would be desirable.
