This essential role, working across the Economic Development, Regeneration and Planning Teams, will be crucial in ensuring that planned regeneration activities benefits local people and local businesses. This role will focus on ensuring maximum local benefit from developer’s section 106 obligation in relation to employment and apprenticeships, skills and training, and local supply chain opportunities. The role will work closely with developers and their main contractors to monitor socio-economic outcomes and with internal colleagues to ensure consistency in approach. The role will also ensure maximum social-economic benefit for local residents and businesses from Council procurement activities.

You will be an excellent communicator, having worked extensively in collaboration with other agencies and be passionate about achieving excellent outcomes for local residents and businesses.

You will have superb negotiation and persuasion skills with an ability to hold agencies to account whilst maintaining positive and productive relationships.

You will have a really good understanding of the employment and skills landscape, coupled with an understanding of regeneration, the construction industry and council’s procurement and planning process.
