This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative new service, Mulberry Junction working as part of a team whose overall aim is to tackle rough sleeping, prevent and reduce homelessness and help people achieve their personal goals by providing a range of housing, health and wellbeing support. Mulberry Junction has been designed in partnership with people affected by homelessness to deliver a service that reflects the diversity of Haringey. The Community Connector will co-produce a sustainable and effective peer support framework and provide support and development opportunities to a network of peers. The role will coordinate a range of peer-led events, support initiatives and capacity-building activities to prevent and relieve homelessness.

About you

We are particularly interested in hearing from people with personal experience of homelessness, mental health, substance use or criminal justice services and from Black and Minority Ethnic communities . We also encourage applications from people who have provided support to someone in their life affected by these issues.

We value passion and commitment over professional experience and encourage applicants to consider the transferable skills they have learnt in all areas of their lives.

You will be :

  • Committed to identifying and generating opportunities for people with lived experience of homelessness to provide peer support.
  • Confident in providing support to individuals and groups using a strengths based approach.
  • Focussed on finding solutions to sometimes complex problems and working with other people and organisations to do so.
  • Committed to developing services with the people who use them, to reflect the diversity of Haringey.

Other Requirements / How to apply

Anyone interested in the role is invited to attend an event hosted by the Peer Advisors developing the service on May 28th 4-6pm at the Shine Café , 89-91 Turnpike Lane.
