About the role

We are inviting applications for an enthusiastic and dynamic Specialist Youth Worker to work in a mental health and well-being service for young men who have been involved in or impacted by serious youth violence, offending and/or gang affiliation.

The service is underpinned by psychological principles and plays a vital role in working holistically with some of the most marginalised young men in Haringey to assist them to access support around holistic well-being needs (including education, employment and training, emotional well-being, access to services and managing risks to offending).

The ideal candidate will need to be a thoughtful and flexible practitioner who places young people and their welfare at the heart of the candidates’ practice.

You’ll work closely with a team of mental health professionals to engage and support young men who present with multiple and complex challenges.

You will also work closely with young men to co-produce activities and events at the project to engage a network of young men. Always ensuring that young people’s voices are heard, and positively influencing your practice. The role will include liaising effectively and efficiently with both internal and external partners to ensure young peoples’ well-being needs are met.

You will also be expected to support the project team with delivering presentations to internal and external stakeholders to share and disseminate the work of this innovative service.

In return, we will give you the time and support you need to make a difference through clinical supervision.

We are actively working to reduce caseloads across the service and provide mobile working technology so that you spend more time with young people, doing what really matters.
