Senior Practitioner - Adoption Team


Senior Practitioner required to work within the Adoption Team of the Children in Care service. Haringey Council has been through a journey of improvement over the past ten years, with continued aspirations to fulfil the first corporate priority of enabling every child the best start in life. About the Role

Experienced social work professionals with 3 years post qualifying experience, preferably in a similar setting. The successful candidates will join supportive colleagues whose core business relates to work with children and prospective adopters you’ll recruit prospective adopters, undertake assessments, carry out family finding activities, provide support and guidance and contribute to the extensive learning and development programme.

To join us you will be a qualified social worker registered with the HCPC. You will be required to demonstrate experience of working directly with children and families from diverse backgrounds. You will have the ability to assess the suitability of family and non-family members and other connected people. You will have enthusiasm for recruiting and assessing members of the community. We are committed to “signs of safety” and need exceptional Social worker professionals who are committed to embedding this model of working.

 

The structure of the adoption team includes one adoption Team Manager, One Senior Practitioner, Six Social Workers and managed by the Service Manager of Fostering and Adoption Service.

Team managers will provide on-going personal development through supervision. Haringey Council offers £2000 retention payments after 18 months of service. The retention payments are paid to experienced qualified social workers and are subject to conditions.
