Temporary / Fixed Term

£44,607 - £47,511

About the role

Are you able to rise to the challenges facing our High Streets and do you have the skills to make a difference to Tottenham’s business community?

Haringey is a dynamic, diverse borough with a broad range of exciting regeneration projects underway or committed. It is a borough which, alongside substantial change, is not immune to familiar challenges facing high streets up and down the country. Our work seeks to secure investment in our places, to help our existing businesses and town centres prosper and to welcome in new enterprises.

Tottenham’s town centres will see a great deal of change over the next few years with developments at Tottenham Hale, the new Spurs Stadium and High Road West creating many opportunities for businesses to flourish.

The emerging Strategy for Tottenham High Road sets out a host of business related projects to be delivered. The borough has been successful in securing substantial public and private sector funding to help realise this ambition, such as the GLA’s Good Growth Fund. The post holder will take a lead on town centre management and business support initiatives which aim to ensure our businesses prosper, reporting to the Tottenham Town Centre Manager.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an appropriate field – such as regeneration, economic development or business studies. You will have proven town centre management or economic development experience in business engagement and support, project development and managing a project team, securing funding and commissioning work from consultants.

You will have the confidence and proven ability to drive forward complex projects, and will be regularly liaising with senior managers, elected members and a wide range of business stakeholders.
