View Vacancy -- Economic Development Officer

Programme / Project Management
Temporary / Fixed Term
Full Time
£40,869 - £48,819

Haringey is a dynamic, diverse borough, but with an economy facing considerable challenges. Do you have the skills and enthusiasm to make a positive difference to the Haringey business community as we work together to overcome them.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted on our business community and high streets unlike anything else in our lifetime. The recently published Good Economy Recovery Plan and High Streets Recovery Action Plan sets out the challenge and what the council intends to do to address this critical period in the economy. Haringey has also responded by expanding its Economic Development Team to provide additional support to our businesses and to help deliver the Recovery Plans.

The post holder, initially reporting to the Head of Economic Development, will take a lead on some of the Recovery Plan projects and business support initiatives but also work on projects led by the wider team. A key responsibility will be to ensure the content of the council’s business web pages is up to date and that there is consistency across our communication channels working with colleagues in the Communications Team.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft applications and have some experience in business engagement and support, project management, and commissioning work from consultants, but training and development will be given.

You will have the confidence and proven ability to drive forward projects, and will be regularly liaising with council officers, a wide range of business stakeholders and at times, elected members.

If you wish to speak the team about the opportunity, please call Diane Southam on 020 8489 5390.
