This is an opportunity to support the operational delivery Haringey’s commitment to the ‘In for Good’ initiative within Covid-19 emergency accommodation services.

As Deputy Manager you will oversee the smooth day to day management of the Finsbury Park Travelodge and Osbourne Grove emergency accommodation services; providing high quality, rapid assessments, accommodation and move on to those who are homeless or rough sleeping.

You will be responsible for providing support, training and supervision to Project Workers and Floating Support Workers and develop a high performing team across the services.

The role will contribute actively to delivery of the Council’s Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategies (2018-2022), by supporting people to secure positive housing, health and community outcomes by enabling rapid exit from street homelessness.

About you

We are looking for a dynamic person who is committed to client engagement, using a strengths-based approach, is outcome focused and enjoys a varied and fast-paced working environment with 100 individuals accommodated.

To do this you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including the Housing Related Support Control Room, the Housing Needs Team at Homes for Haringey, Travelodge staff and a range of specialist external partners providing health, immigration and move-on support.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people with personal experience of homelessness, mental health, substance use or criminal justice services and from Black and Minority Ethnic communities. We also encourage applications from people who have provided support to someone in their life affected by these issues.

We value passion and commitment over professional experience and encourage applicants to consider the transferable skills they have learnt in all areas of their lives.

We ask that you are:

  • Committed to developing services with the people who use them, to reflect the diversity of Haringey.
  • Resilient, eager to learn and able to work with our clients in a holistic and client-centred approach
  • Confident working in a 1-2-1 capacity with people, to help them identify their priorities and goals.
  • Focussed on finding solutions to sometimes complex problems and working with other people and organisations to do so.
