About Haringey

We are investing in creating a better borough for all our residents, and bettering the lives of children and young people in Haringey is our first corporate priority. We are located in the north of the capital with a population of approximately 250,000 people and a growing population of 0-19 year olds. We are a diverse and fast-changing borough and tomorrow’s leaders, artists and innovators are busy growing up here.

Haringey is transforming its services for children and young people, and have already made exciting, innovative changes as we strive for excellence in all we do.

In short, we’re a council with high ambitions; a place to work that is full of energy and focus. Our teams have passion, integrity and commitment, and people join us, do so as they see Haringey is a learning organisation, and the people that work here strive for continuous improvement in their practice, aiming high to ensure we provide outstanding outcomes for our children.

We offer a great place to develop a career that is yours to own.

About the Service

The Targeted Response Team sits within the Early Help Service. Early Help works holistically with families and seeks to ensure that children, young people, families and communities are supported and empowered to find their own solutions to be better able to cope with future needs and challenging situations as they arise. These outcomes will be achieved by working collaboratively with organisations and communities across a range of settings.

The Targeted Response Team provides more intensive support to families, children and young people who are on the edge of care, youth crime, gang involvement, substance misuse and Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE). The team also includes specialist workers in domestic abuse, child/adult mental health and substance misuse.

About you

We require an experienced, collaborative, individual with a proven ability to establish, oversee and quality assure Early Help services which deliver excellent outcomes for children, young people and families as well as the ability to establish and sustain partnership working relationships, implement new policies, practices and procedures and related change management activities. You will be responsible for the management of two Senior Practitioners.
