About the Role

Triangle Children’s Centre provides childcare for families in a diverse local community. We are looking for an Early Years Assistant to work with children aged 6 months up to 5 years old. 

As an Early Year’s Assistant, you will work under the direction of the Early Year’s Officer (EYO) to support access to play and learning for all children. You will provide general support to the EYO in ensuring the care, learning and educational needs of all children are met.

  • You will attend to the children’s personal needs and implement related personal programmes including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters
  • Supervise and support children ensuring their safety and access to play and learning
  • Be aware of children’s needs/progress/achievements and report to their key person as agreed
  • Support the Key Person in managing the learning environment and children’s behaviour, reporting difficulties as appropriate
  • Support children in respect of local and national frameworks 

About You:

We are looking for someone who has previous experience working with children aged from 6 months to 5 years old who ideally has a recognised childcare qualification. You should:

  • Have knowledge and experience working with the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Have knowledge of child development and learning and good childcare practice
  • Experience working in partnership with parents and other professionals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to confidently communicate with parents, colleagues, and children
  • Good IT skills

This is a part time position working 25 hours per week. You will need to be available for alternating shift patterns between 8:00am - 1:00pm and 1:00pm - 6:00pm.
