View Vacancy -- Service Manager - Supported Accommodation Service (Ermine Road)

Housing & Accommodation
Permanent
Full Time
£40,869 - £43,860

About the Role

The Housing Related Support (HRS) Service is leading an ambitious programme to design and deliver new supported housing for vulnerable adults affected by homelessness in Haringey. Ermine Road is a new development of 37 self-contained modular supported housing units, designed with and for people affected by homelessness.

As Service Manager you will develop and deliver the service before and after opening, managing a team of Project Workers to offer tailored strengths-based support to people recovering from street homelessness.

Ermine Road will offer accommodation and support for up to two years, providing 24hr on site staffing. As Service Manager you will work with the HRS Operations Lead and other operational managers to create, implement and then review key policies, risk assessments and working practices for Ermine Road, over a 12-month implementation period.

As the post-holder you will be responsible for recruiting and leading your team and ensuring the delivery of a comprehensive offer of support for residents. You will empower residents, staff and partners to work collaboratively, fostering good relations between those living at the service and those living and working in the local area.

You will insightfully represent your service in various meetings, project groups and initiatives working in the borough, embedding the service within the local multi-disciplinary homelessness partnership.

About You

We're looking to recruit a Service Manager with an understanding of service and team development. As the post-holder, you will have experience supporting staff, developing new initiatives, procedures, and policies with positive outcomes for staff and clients. You will feel confident working in partnership with a range of internal and external partners, with people with lived experience of homelessness and rough sleeping.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people with personal experience of homelessness, drug or alcohol dependency or criminal justice involvement. We also particularly welcome applications from Black and Minority Ethnic and transgender people who are over-represented in homelessness services and under-represented in the homelessness workforce.

We value enthusiasm and commitment over professional experience, and encourage applicants to consider the transferable skills they have learnt in all areas of their lives.

We ask that you are:

  • Committed to developing services with the people who use them, to reflect the diversity of Haringey.
  • Confident leading a team to develop and deliver the vision for the service
  • Resilient and creative when faced with challenging situations
  • Focussed on working collaboratively to find solutions to sometimes complex problems

Other Requirements

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. An enhanced disclosure check with the DBS will be undertaken.

We recognise that people with lived experience of homelessness, mental health and addiction are more likely to come into contact with criminal justice services and encourage people to apply for the role even if they have previous convictions.

Closing Date: Tuesday 8th December 2020

Interviews: Friday 18th & Monday 21st December 2020
