About the role

The post holder will be required to undertake the diverse range of Food, Health and Safety Enforcement case work, including accident investigations, infection control, smoke free enforcement and more.  You will also provide guidance, advice and educational programs to local businesses and voluntary services.  


About you

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, flexibly and enthusiastic environmental health practitioner to join our Commercial Environmental Health Team.  The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge, extensive experience and/or knowledge of dealing with the full range of commercial businesses from take-aways to restaurants, small retailers to large wholesalers/importers and small artisan producers to approved manufacturers and more.  

 

In addition to having excellent organisational, communication and IT skills, the successful candidate will be capable of demonstrating initiative and an ability to work independently, with minimum supervision. They will also have excellent team working and time management skills.

 

Experience of dealing with massage and special treatment and/or smoke free/shisha establishments would be an advantage although not essential. 


The post is suitable for newly qualified, applicants seeking flexible working and those returning from career break.
