About the Service

The council has been on a significant journey of improvement, with ambition to enable every child and young person to have the best start in life. We are committed to the "signs of safety" and we need exceptional leaders who are committed to embedding this model of working and understand that good quality social work engagement can make a difference for children, young people and their families with whom we are working. Haringey is committed to providing "the right support for the right child at the right time" this post is key to delivering the first response right for every child. 

We are currently developing a specialist multi-agency Residential assessment service. The service will provide up to six places for children aged 11-15, the overall aim will be , to complete a comprehensive multi-agency assessment to identify their challenges and provide clear guidance to ensure that the right exit strategy is sought when planning for permanency, this could include long term Therapeutic placements Family placements and in some cases reunification .

Creative education and support packages will be developed to enable the children and young people to continue their learning during the assessment period.

What we are looking for:

This role will be responsible for shaping and delivering the residential home’s Statement of Purpose and managing the team to achieve the same.

You will need to have:

  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People Services or equivalent (or a preparedness to work towards the same).
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development.
