About the Service

Haringey’s Highways service has experienced significant growth as a result of the Council’s 10-year capital strategy, the extensive regeneration agenda and the related requirement to deliver high quality infrastructure improvements. Following a recent reorganisation to increase capacity aiding the delivery of 1st class service, we are recruiting a Group Engineer (Highways & Maintenance).

 

 

About the role

The Group Engineer (Highways & Maintenance) role is designed to promote and support the management of the highway network infrastructure and its related assets. The post holder will lead on all Highway Asset management and operational work, including all highways, structures and street lighting assets. Additionally, the postholder will be expected to maintain the IT system within Highway Operations and play an active role in the delivery of the Highway Asset Management Plan and associated Asset register.

 

 

About you

We are looking for someone with expert knowledge of relevant highway maintenance legislation and statutory duties, including structures and street lighting assets. You will need demonstrable experience in contracts management, managing revenue and capital budgets, and have experience in managing service programmes and operational processes.

 

 

As there is the expectation that the role will collaborate with a diverse range of stake holders (elected members, local community representatives, partners, businesses and developers), you will need to exercise sound political judgment, be confident influencer, passionate about delivering high service standards, have strong organizational skills and be a team player.
