About the role
Haringey Adult Learning Service is seeking to recruit an ESOL and Wellbeing Curriculum Manager.
The Curriculum Manager will be responsible for leading and managing a curriculum area team to ensure the delivery of high quality adult and community learning and be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of a quality assured curriculum offer. The postholder will line manage area tutors and performance manage all aspects of the curriculum offer. Part of a small senior management team within a recently restructured service, the Curriculum Manager will work proactively to deliver a locally responsive offer that maintains high quality as defined by the new OFSTED framework and carries meaningful impact on the working, family and community lives of learners in Haringey.
To be successful in this role you will need to have a minimum of 2 years experience of managing a team of tutors delivering top quality learning experience. An accomplished manager, leader and networker, you will have a proven track record of developing and delivering innovative and high quality curriculum relevant to local need, as the service is currently working to contribute to Haringey council priorities around employability and health inequality. You will have a strong understanding of funder/government expectation, sector norms and the rapid contextual change currently being experienced by the FE and Adult skills sector.
This would suit someone with a quick thinking, energetic approach who can cut to the heart of a range of issues. You will be able to motivate and performance manage and understand how to ensure improvement. A grasp of current priorities, including the digital learning and Prevent agendas, is essential.
Applicants should hold a PGCE or equivalent degree level qualification and be subject specialists in the above curriculum.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. An enhanced disclosure check with the DBS will be undertaken.
Level 5 or above teaching qualification (e.g. Certificate in Education, Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), City &Guilds 7407 stage 3 or Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS))
OR a minimum of a full level 4 teaching qualification (e.g. City &Guilds 7407 stage 2, Certificate of Teaching in the Life Long Learning Sector
(CTLLS)) and commitment to achieving a level 5 qualification by 2017.
OR educated to degree level with considerable management experience in Adult and Community Learning (ACL) or Further Education (FE) sector.
Good working knowledge of Haringey Council’s Corporate Plan and the priorities to which HALS contributes
Awareness of finance and budgets and the implication on service delivery
