View Vacancy -- Project Workers - Supported Accommodation Service (Ermine Road)

Housing & Accommodation
Permanent
Full Time
£25,137 - £26,520

About the Role

The Housing Related Support (HRS) Service is leading an ambitious programme to design and deliver new supported housing for vulnerable adults affected by homelessness in Haringey. Ermine Road is a new development of 37 self-contained modular supported housing units, designed with and for people affected by homelessness.

This is an opportunity to be part of an exciting new service that will offer 24hr support and accommodation to people affected by homelessness.

As a Project Worker at Ermine Road, you will be responsible for a small caseload of clients who you will support to explore their needs, assets and risks towards recovering from homelessness and achieving their personal goals in life. You will work in partnership to identify future housing options and support residents to understand their rights and responsibilities in maintaining their accommodation.

Working as part of a multi-agency partnership, you will support residents to play an active role in the service and their local community, identifying opportunities to challenge stigma and inequality by fostering good relations between people from different backgrounds and life experiences.

About You

We're looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated team of Project Workers to join the service. As the post-holder, you will be working in partnership with a range of housing, health and community organisation to ensure residents at Ermine Road can access the support they need to move forward with their lives.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people with personal experience of homelessness, mental health, substance use or criminal justice involvement. We also encourage applications from Black and Minority Ethnic and transgender people who are over-represented in homelessness services and under-represented in the workforce.

We value passion and commitment over professional experience and encourage applicants to consider the transferable skills they have learnt in all areas of their lives.

We ask that you are:

  • Committed to developing services with the people who use them, to reflect the diversity of Haringey.
  • Resilient, eager to learn and able to work with our clients in a holistic and client-centred approach.
  • Confident working in a 1-2-1 capacity with people, to help them identify their priorities and goals.
  • Focussed on finding solutions to sometimes complex problems and working with other people and organisations to do so.

Other Requirements

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. An enhanced disclosure check with the DBS will be undertaken.

We recognise that people with lived experience of homelessness, mental health and addiction are more likely to come into contact with criminal justice services and encourage people to apply for the role even if they have previous convictions.

Closing Date: Thursday 3rd December 2020

Interview Dates: Tuesday 15th & Wednesday 16th December 2020
