About the role

We are looking for someone with a background in public health development and commissioning to improve the health and wellbeing of people living and working in Haringey, with a focus on reducing health inequalities. The postholder will be part of the Health in All Policies Team (HIAP) and will support the Health in All Policies Lead Officer in creating a borough where making the healthier choice the easier choice.

 

About you 

The postholder should be able to take a strategic systems approach to commissioning public health. The post-holder will be part of a strong Public Health team based in the Local Authority and will work with partners across the local authority, NHS, Business, Voluntary and Community sectors supporting a range of projects to reduce health inequalities, including The Obesity Alliance and Making Every Contact Count (MECC). This post will also be responsible for coordinating and writing our public health’s licencing representations. We would like someone who is enthusiastic, committed and a self-starter to join the team and are equally as passionate about what they do to bring about change.

The post-holder will ideally be committed to a career in public health and ongoing professional training however, candidates with other health career pathways may be considered.

 

Other Requirements

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. An enhanced disclosure check with the DBS will be undertaken.
