The Young Adults Service at Haringey Council is looking to recruit a receptionist to fill the challenging but rewarding role of receptionist working with vulnerable young adults. The receptionist will work an 18-hour week over two and a half days (Wednesday am, Thursday and Friday). You will be responsible for operating reception and managing the reception area, supporting both the Young adults and staff in the service and providing excellent customer service.

 

The Young Adults Service also provide a referral and assessment service for Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children and assessment for care leavers who wish to resume services. The post of receptionist provides a pivotal role in ensuring organisational systems are effective and in place to support both our young people and staff.

 

You will also be working with young people entitled to a leaving care service who have complex difficulties which may include mental illness, challenging behaviour, substance misuse and involvement in the criminal justice system. You will work closely with your colleagues in the Leaving Care Young Adults Service to ensure that young people get the support they require to achieve and maintain independence. You will also offer support and consultation to external agencies involved in their support planning.

 

General duties will include covering the reception area, risk management and providing administrative support to the YAS service employees. Excellent communication skills and organisational skills will be required.

 

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. An enhanced disclosure check with the Criminal Records Bureau will be undertaken.
