About the Role

Do you want to work in a Children’s Services Department that is striving to be Outstanding? Haringey is looking for a skilled, experienced dedicated professional who is passionate about improving services for children and families. 

We are looking to appoint an excellent social work qualified professional to the role of Case Progression & Assurance Manager with responsibility for improving our services to families involved in Court proceedings. 

We are seeking a highly experienced manager with a strong track record of managing statutory Safeguarding and Court Services to children, young people, and their families. To be shortlisted you will need to have extensive knowledge, experience and understanding regarding Safeguarding and Children’s law, especially PLO and ensuring excellent performance management and quality assurance systems are in place and that our services become exemplars. The post holder will report to the Principal Social Worker. 

The key aim of the post is to help secure the best outcomes for vulnerable children by driving best practice in all case work leading to Court proceedings regarding children and their families.  The postholder will ensure that all pre and care proceedings work is fully monitored and progressed to secure efficient, effective, economic, high quality client focussed service delivery within timescales.  The postholder will work with social workers, team and service managers, Heads of Service and the local authority legal department, and with partners across the Family Justice System, including external solicitors, to drive improvement and ensure outstanding service delivery. 

About You 

Are you a qualified social worker? Are you able to work in a busy, challenging and fast paced environment? Are you an experienced and skilled manager who can drive forward our agenda and deliver practice excellence? Are you an excellent communicator? Do you have a sound knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding policy and practice and of Child Care Law, especially PLO? Do you have a very good knowledge and understanding of performance management and quality assurance? Are you experienced regarding working with internal and external partners (legal departments, Cafcass and HMCTS etc) to improve the outcomes for children and families involved in Court proceedings? Would you be committed to improving services for children and families in Haringey? Do you want to further develop your career by taking on a challenging and rewarding role?
