Energy Infrastructure Manager

Closing Date: Sunday 15th April 2018

As a leader in area wide carbon reduction Haringey has set out its ambition to be Zero Carbon by 2050. Our ambition is formed with the boroughs community and is based on our record of accomplishment on delivering carbon reduction with our residents, through planning, and across our Council estate. Addressing issues such as fuel poverty, delivering energy resilience, and reducing CO2 emissions. To help us grow and further deliver this we are looking for a creative, committed, and experienced individual to join our team.

The role we are seeking will lead the council’s energy infrastructure portfolio ensuring that we deliver our decentralised energy capital projects and grow our energy efficiency work. Haringey Council has set out plans to deliver three Decentralised Energy Networks in North Tottenham, Tottenham Hale and Wood Green. With the potential to serve over 15,000 homes. Alongside this we are reviewing the energy performance of our corporate estate to maximise energy reduction and deliver operational efficiencies.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering complex energy infrastructure projects on time and to budget. You will have the technical expertise to deliver decentralised energy projects including district heating, CHP, PV, as well as the full range of other energy efficiency work relative to an urban environment. You will understand how this work is essential to eliminating fuel poverty, mitigating climate change and providing energy supply resilience. Equally, you will have strong leadership and negotiation skills, and a successful track record of initiating, delivering and managing complex capital projects, contracts and large budgets. You will be a leader who is motivated by the satisfaction of realising tangible results.

A qualification in engineering or substantial experience in a similar role, along with proven capital infrastructure project delivery is essential.
