Our service offers a great place to develop a career that creatively serves and develops Early Help to children, young people and their families. Currently, we have opportunities for Family and Youth Support Workers as well as Senior Family Support Workers and Senior Youth Practitioners.

About you

  • We are looking for people with excellent practice skills, a commitment to direct work and advocating for children and young people and the ability to analyse complex information.
  • You will be a positive communicator who can collaborate, influence and challenge with excellent verbal and written skills.
  • You will have sound knowledge of the statutory functions of a Local Authority and where Early Help sits in this, relevant legislation and duties to safeguard children and young people.
  • You will be able to work to a high standard, meet deadlines and contribute to a learning culture within your team.
  • You will be proactive in building on your previous learning and experience and experience in direct work with children, young people and their families could be an advantage.
  • For the Senior roles, you will have some experience of managing front line staff and performance management
  • Most importantly we are looking for people who have an unwavering passion for working with families, with the vision and drive to change outcomes for children, young people and their families and the skills to be part of a team that inspires and supports stakeholders.

About the roles

  • You will be responsible for providing a high quality service to children and their families.
  • Alongside your colleagues, you will have a role in supporting the implementation of the Signs of Safety Practice Framework
  • You will undertake Child and Family Wellbeing assessments (Early Help Assessments) in accordance with the Framework
  • Formulate and implement whole family support plans in partnership with children and young people, their families and other relevant agencies based on these assessments
  • You will support the delivery of universal provisions in the evening at the local youth centre to young people aged 10-19 (up to 25 with SEN)
  • Coordinate and lead Team Around the Family Meetings that keep children at the centre of all interventions that take place
  • You will develop and maintain strong community relationships with external stakeholders i.e. schools, colleges and youth networks in Haringey
  • Take responsibility for managing an individual caseload and maintaining up to date electronic records
  • Senior roles will have oversight of assessments and support plans, ensuring that all family members needs are identified and plans are outcome focused to address these needs, providing effective tailored, timely and sequenced interventions
  • Senior Youth Practitioner roles will lead on the delivery of youth work, outreach activities and community related projects in order to promote the personal, educational, creative and social development of young people, helping them reach their full potential.

Please note the salary ranges for our roles:

Support Workers:  £32,418 - £34,209 pa

Senior Support Workers:  £40,869 - £43,860 pa

Please note that our Senior Youth Practitioner and Youth Support worker vacancies are 2 year Fixed Term vacancies.
