Do you want to make a real impact on the health of Londoners?

About us

The London Association of Directors of Public Health represents Directors of Public Health across the capital’s 33 local authorities. Together we collaborate on joint projects, provide peer challenge and support, and advocate for public health priorities. We work closely with our partners, including London Councils, Public Health England, NHS England, and the Greater London Authority.

About the role

This is an exciting role where you will be able to make a real difference to the health of Londoners.

You will work closely with Directors of Public Health, their teams and partners across London, to influence, develop, deliver and evaluate innovative public health projects. You will work across different portfolios, with an initial focus on tackling child obesity, promoting mental health, and embedding health in all policies.

You will need to have exceptional partnership and project management skills and be comfortable working with senior officers and managing multiple agendas in a fast-paced and stimulating environment.

About the team

You will join a small and friendly team, hosted by Haringey Council’s public health department, and offering plenty of peer-to-peer support. We are committed to our employees and offer many opportunities for professional development including leadership training, shadowing and mentoring. You will be part of a wide professional network, across London and nationally.

Benefits

In addition to a local authority pension you will benefit from a healthy work-life balance offering flexible working hours, work from home days, generous annual leave, and an interest free travel loan.

Location

You will be able to work flexibly across our two offices, the first in Central London (SE1), with easy access to London Bridge and London Waterloo and the second office in Wood Green (N22), close to the Piccadilly line.
