This is an exciting time to join a committed in-house legal team, which is delivering an efficient and high quality legal service to enable the council to deliver its Borough Plan priorities. We are looking for confident, motivated people with strong communication and influencing skills to be part of our excellent and friendly legal team. 

 

About the role

This role is important to assist the Council in delivering its Borough Plan priority and outcomes for children and young persons to have the best start in life with high quality education. You will be required to manage a demanding and sensitive caseload of advice and litigation matters in the areas of Employment and Education law, such as unfair dismissal and discrimination claims and providing advice to our schools. 

                       

 

About you

You will be a qualified solicitor, barrister or CILEX, with recent relevant experience in the areas of employment and education. We are looking for a dynamic, confident and motivated individual with strong litigation, influencing, communication and interpersonal skills. You must be able to lead, advise and manage a demanding and sensitive caseload, using your own initiative and with minimum supervision. You will also be required to work collaboratively and flexibly. You will be passionate about client care and take pride in delivering a first rate service to your clients.
