About Disability Action Haringey

Disability Action Haringey (DAH) is newly formed independent Deaf and Disabled Peoples Organisation in Haringey. Having recently gained charitable status, the Board of Trustees are looking for someone with a lived experience of disability, to be their first Chief Executive Officer.  

DAH is a pan-disability organisation promoting inclusion, diversity, and the right of disabled people to lead a full and rewarding life without barriers created by society. The successful candidate will lead the organisation through what is anticipated to be a period of significant development and growth, leading and managing the development and running of the new organisation. 

About you

The successful candidate will: 

  • Have lived experience of disability
  • The passion, drive and ability to inspire and lead people to achieve Disability Action Haringey’s vision
  • A good understanding of and commitment to disability rights, equality, equity, diversity, inclusion and the Social Model of Disability
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience leading and delivering high quality services in a senior management role
  • Excellent negotiating and influencing skills
  • Understanding of policy, changes and challenges and the confidence to highlight the impact on the lives of disabled people to bring about change
  • Ability to operate at a strategic level to lead, manage and oversee the development and running of a new organisation
