Temporary / Fixed Term

£42,684 - £45,585

  • Can you lead projects and initiatives and find creative ways to increase income?
  • Are you a creative thinker, great communicator with an eye for spotting an opportunity and transforming it into reality?
  • Do you have a track record of income generation and are passionate about libraries?

London Borough of Haringey are committed to library service delivery. We have retained all nine libraries and have underway a £5m plus capital investment programme to modernise spaces and technology. Haringey is a diverse borough with unique and very special building and communities who are fiercely proud of them.

The implementation of the capital improvement plan for libraries taking place in 2019/20 there is a window of opportunity to ensure that libraries are high profile, vibrant and valued assets of the council and therefore will be more attractive to commercial opportunities.

The 9 libraries in the Borough are located in prime locations at Wood Green, Hornsey, Marcus Garvey, Muswell Hill, Alexandra Park with Stroud Green & Harringay and St Anns. Last year the footfall was 1.5m. There are underused spaces both internally and externally that have the potential to generate income.

You will be a key member of Haringey Council’s libraries senior team and will work to develop an income generating strategy that will add value to service provision for residents and visitors. Your main responsibilities will be working around funding bids and income generation strategies and you will be expected not only to maximise the income generation potential of existing library resources and assets, but to also explore new opportunities for income generation as they arise. You will also hold responsibility for initiating funding bids, bringing in of the funding and ensuring that funding bids and income development opportunities are aligned with the Council’s polices and national library initiatives.
