View Vacancy -- Programme Manager - Haringey Fairness Commission

Strategy, Policy & Governance
Temporary / Fixed Term

£43,734 - £46,578

About the role:

Haringey is a place of great opportunity, diversity and inclusion - but we want to ensure that everyone who lives here is able to take advantage of the opportunities that living in Haringey – and London – affords.

Haringey is the sixth most deprived borough in London, with deprivation more concentrated in the northeast. There are challenges in ensuring access to sustainable, better-paid employment; tackling health and mental health issues; and helping our residents to manage growing household costs.

We have established a Fairness Commission to address these and other issues of concern. We are looking for a motivated individual to undertake the management of this project over the next 12 months. Core to our success will be talking and listening to as residents, local organisations and businesses through a substantial engagement process. This work will result in a series of recommendations in Summer 2019. The work of the Commission will inform Haringey Council’s  borough strategy both in terms of the outcomes we are trying to achieve and importantly in terms of how we engage with our residents and stakeholders. Further details on the Commission can be found at www.haringey.gov.uk/fairness.

About You

It is important to us that this Commission is inclusive and outward facing as well as being a core activity and focus for the Council. We are looking for someone to create a project plan for the Commission – someone who will be able to work with the Chair, Commissioners, residents and key stakeholders (internally and externally) to ensure that clear milestones are identified and met.

You will need to have demonstrable experience of quickly establishing strong working relationships both internally and externally, have experience of working within a political environment and possess excellent verbal and writing skills.

Ideally, you will also have experience of creating and delivering a public affairs or lobbying strategy/activity, be able to identify opportunities to highlight the work of the commission as it progresses and possess policy research and development experience.

This role is offered on a 12 month fixed term contract opportutnity.
