Grade: PO6 – P07

 

This is an exciting time to join a committed in-house legal team, which is delivering an efficient and high-quality legal service to enable the council to deliver its Borough Plan priorities. We are looking for confident, motivated people with strong communication and influencing skills to be part of our excellent and friendly legal team. 


About the role:

This role will play an important part to assist the council to deliver the following priorities and outcomes set out in its Borough Plan:

"Every young person, whatever their background, has a pathway to success for the future"


You will be required to manage a demanding and sensitive caseload of advice and litigation matters in the areas of employment law, such as unfair dismissal and discrimination claims.


You will also be required to provide advice in the areas of education law to the council and to our schools.     


You will be a qualified solicitor, barrister or CILEX, with recent relevant experience in the areas of employment and education. We are looking for a dynamic, confident and motivated individual with strong litigation, influencing, communication and interpersonal skills. You must be able to lead, advise and manage a demanding and sensitive caseload, using your own initiative and with minimum supervision. You will also be required to work collaboratively and flexibly. You will be passionate about client care and take pride in delivering a first rate service to your clients.
