About the role

Haringey Adult Learning Service are recruiting four Associate Tutors. Tutors will need to undertake teaching and related duties that fully support and encourage learners throughout their learning journey and to progress to other higher-level courses, volunteering or employment.

We are looking for associate tutors for both daytime and evening classes.

Associate Tutors for the provision of the following courses:

  • ESOL
  • Employability ESOL
  • Vocational ESOL Delivery
  • Teacher Training Awards
  • Functional Skills – Maths and English
  • Business Administration

About you

You should have recent experience in delivering a top-quality learning experience to adult learners with differentiated learning needs. You should be able to work proactively within a team, contribute to team meetings, peer observations and be prepared to share best teaching practice and resources, including E-Learning.

We would expect you to continue to develop your teaching skills through CPD and to action the points identified at regular teaching observations. You should be willing to help develop the curriculum in your specialism to the benefit of all learners and the service and contribute to the Self-Assessment processes. 

Tutors are expected to complete a variety of paperwork including, lesson plans, schemes of work, withdrawals form etc. and ensure that their learners are well prepared for the exams or RARPA they need to take at the end of their courses. 

All staff should work to meet national; local and OFSTED inspection requirements including Safeguarding and Prevent strategies.

Applicants should hold a PGCE, DELTA, DTTLS or CELTA equivalent qualification in teaching adults, as well as PTTLS or the Award in Education and Training.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation Offenders Act 1974. An enhanced disclosure check with the DBS will be undertaken.

Please be aware that days, times and hours to be agreed. The posts will be offered on a 18 month fixed term contract.

Haringey offer a flexible programme of teaching across days, evening and weekends and are seeking to recruit experienced and enthusiastic individuals.


This role is a Part Time - 18 hours per week.
