£38,994 - £41,847

Do you enjoy being the best?

A great opportunity has come up to work in one of the fastest paced public sector communications teams in the country. Haringey is a busy, diverse borough that is constantly changing – it’s already a fantastic place to live with some of the best schools and parks and some of London’s most iconic neighbourhoods.

It's an exciting time to be joining our new-look energetic and imaginative Communications Team, which has a real focus on ideas, positive stories and communicating the council’s work.

We want to hire a positive and proactive communications professional to complete the team. You'll be working in a fast-paced environment that is constantly challenging and interesting. If you are talented and ambitious and looking for an excellent career move, then we would like to hear from you.

About the role

Haringey Council has lots of good news to share with staff, residents and the rest of the country.  If you are great with words, have creative flair and are media savvy then this is place for you.

We are looking for a Senior Communications Officer to help us make the most of media opportunities, manage our reputation, and provide expert media handling, whether it’s for print or digital. You’ll also implement proactive campaigns and write for copy for a range of external and internal publications. You will get the chance to work on a wide range of projects – from creating campaigns to support our priorities, or raising the profile of Haringey in the local and national press while making sure that our communities stay engaged and involved.

About you

You might come from a journalism background – or you may already be working in communications. You will need to be media savvy – as confident talking to national journalists as you would be talking to the local community, along with excellent project management, copywriting and editorial skills.

If you are someone who is passionate about communicating and able to use the power of words to influence and change - we want to hear from you.

Closing Date: Monday 18th February 2019 at 12:00
