About the role 

This post is designed to assume responsibility for Traffic Engineering, Network, London Cycle and Local Safety schemes and the provision of support, advice, and guidance to senior management as well as supporting more junior members of staff. Other schemes that will come under the role may include but not limited to:

 

  • Bus priority, traffic calming, safer routes to school and walking schemes
  • Regeneration and Development schemes including streets-cape improvements and Section 106.
  • Foot ways and Carriageways, Controlled Parking Zones & Local Parking Restrictions.
  • Other externally funded schemes.

 

About You

  • You will be a very experienced project engineer with a detailed knowledge and understanding of highways, transport and public safety legislation, statutory duties and practice, as well as detailed technical knowledge of engineering, including analytical methods, technical standards and methodologies, design principles and techniques.

 

  • You will also have experience in report preparation and presentation at Committees and other public gatherings and the ability to deal effectively with concerns of elected Members.

 

  • You will need to possess exceptional team and people skills to develop strong working relationships and deliver services and performance in a highly pressured working environment.
