About the role

We are seeking a Bereavement Officer to support the Mortuary in providing an empathetic process for people who have lost loved ones. The ability to manage grieving families, administration systems, and protection of funds is essential to this role. 

This post will administer the Council’s statutory duty for public health funerals for people who die within the borough and have no-one to assist with their funeral arrangements. 


About you

This will be a rewarding and varied role for the right person and will involve carrying out tasks relating to the funeral service and protection of property.

  • You will be working closely with many internal departments, as well as several external bodies, so your written and verbal communication skills will be of an extremely high standard.
  • You will have experience of working with bereaved families.

The role is based at Haringey Mortuary with the ability to work remotely.

£27,978- £28, 992 pro rata

This position is offered on a part time basis working 18hours per week, Monday to Friday 9:00am - 1:00pm.
