Make a big impact in Haringey

The world around us has changed utterly in the last few weeks, but some things remain as they were. Haringey’s greatest strength is still its people. We still work together and look out for each other, becoming stronger and more resilient than ever. We still strive every day to be the council our communities need and expect. Your job is to help us use these strengths, see the opportunities and sharpen our focus to ensure Haringey’s residents can thrive in the new uncertainty.

When we say we want to do more for our residents, we mean it. That’s why, even in such unprecedented times, we’re being proactive and creating a new strategic function covering strategy, policy, corporate communications, data and insight, transformation & change, and performance management. As its leader, you’ll bring together these functions to work collaboratively, supporting our communities, and driving us to be the best possible council for our residents.

It’s a huge opportunity to apply your skills and talent in a place that welcomes energy and a desire to roll up your sleeves and make a difference. Working across the Council, you’ll deep dive into what we do and strive to make it better, ensuring our strategic positioning is the best as it can be. It means using data to make improvements; driving collaboration; and finding alternative ways of delivering services. At the same time, you’ll get involved with, and bring us even closer to our highly diverse communities.

To forge these kinds of relationships, you’ll need to be a very special kind of leader. One who can win the trust and support of local people as well as members and senior officers. You’ll need the ability to advise and influence at the highest level. You’ll strengthen partnerships, take a fresh approach to services, create new models and empower residents. To succeed, you’ll be a strategic thinker with a hands-on attitude.

An experienced senior manager, you can make change happen. You’ve worked in large organisations before, moulding strategy, delivering transformation and guiding an organisation. Crucially, you understand the importance of Communications and know how to enhance our brand. Above all, you’ll be fired up by the opportunity to touch thousands of lives. The challenge starts here.
