We are looking to recruit highly motivated individuals to contribute to our public health programmes across different workstreams.

Haringey Council Public Health team is responsible for the development and commissioning of programmes and implementation of strategies which are underpinned by Health in all Policies to improve the health and wellbeing of people living and working in Haringey with a particular focus on reducing health inequalities. 

Post holder/s will join the team at an exciting time in the development of our planned public health programme of work, contributing towards achieving the priorities set out in the Borough Plan 2019-23. 

We are a dynamic and highly motivated team that is well embedded within the adult and health directorate of the local authority, with excellent working relationships across the Council, the local Clinical Commissioning Group and wider partners. The leaders of the borough are firmly committed to public health and the principles of prevention and early intervention, making this an excellent place to work to achieve genuine improvements for our residents.

Successful candidate/s will bring energy, drive and innovation, be a self-starter to make a difference, working through the challenges to improve outcomes for Haringey residents. As a post holder you will need to develop a good understanding of the context of services in the borough which impact on health and health inequalities.

The Health in All Policies Project Officer will be responsible for a range of initiatives including coordinating the Haringey’s Tobacco Control and School Superzones work.

You will be expected to provide support and work in co-operation with other colleagues within the Public Health team, council directorates, the local Clinical Commissioning Group, NHS providers and the voluntary sector and will need to establish and maintain a wide range of working relationships.
