Programme / Project Management
Temporary / Fixed Term

£42,684 - £45,585

About the role

Addressing violence against women and girls (VAWG) forms part of Haringey’s local partnership approach to improving health, safety and wellbeing in the borough. In November 2016, Haringey launched a 10-year VAWG strategy that was developed in consultation with survivors and with local residents as well as a wide range of professionals across the borough. The vision of the strategy is ‘to improve the safety, health and wellbeing of women and girls in the borough so they can live to their full potential and for Haringey to become a borough in which no form of abuse is tolerated.’

The VAWG Coordinator is based within Public Health and works with the VAWG Strategic Lead and key partners across council services and across the borough (including police, probation, health trusts/services and the voluntary sector as well as local residents and victim/survivors) to drive forward work on ending VAWG in Haringey.

Key priorities of the role include:

·        To work with the Strategic Lead for Violence Against Women and Girls to coordinate and maintain all aspects of the multi-agency partnership response to violence against women and girls. To manage and strategically lead on specific areas of the VAWG portfolio, ensuring there are robust, affordable operation plans in place to deliver the Borough Plan on time and to budget.

·        To develop and manage Haringey’s Coordinated Community Response (CCR) pilot in three distinct areas in the borough. To effectively engage and develop partnerships with community groups, local initiatives and community leaders and local residents to achieve the aims of the pilot. To lead on the development and roll-out of the pilot and oversee the training delivery and evaluation.
